Is my caliper piston stuck?

Default Is my caliper piston stuck?

I was in the middle of replacing my rear brake pads, lines, etc. when i tried to put the piston half of the caliper back on the other loaded half of the caliper. The piston was completely pushed out, and i couldn't push it back in w\ my bare hands. I used a C-clamp to push the piston in [making sure to keep the clamp parallel so as to not destroy the caliper bore], and forced the piston back in. I haven't bled the brakes or tested the calipers yet, but i thought I'd ask so i don't ruin the new rotors while testing the brakes out. Is the caliper piston suppose to move freely when not connected to the brake line?

everything sounds fine. you shouldnt be able to push the piston in with your hand but you should be able to with a c clamp. if a piston is seized it will not go in at all or will make scratching noises when it is pressed back into the caliper
