Default Front and back wheel widths

I was wondering what kinds of wheel widths people seem to have luck with on their SCs. I searched but there seem to be a lot of 9 and 9.5s, but that seems a lot wider than the stock and I haven't seen any wheels that big on SCs around here.

I'm thinking of 17" Volk Gram Lights 57, but was hoping I could get some help with picking widths. What do people think of 17x7.5" up front and 17x8.5" in back? Are these suitable?

Thanks a bunch for any help guys.

Not enough width in the front or rear. Go search and read this thread.

Check that link from lsflame very helpful if you feel like going through all the pages. I'm running 9" front and 10.5" rear in 19". Offsets are a big factor too.

When running a wider tire in the rear then in the front what do you do about tire rotation ? just switch the wheels from right to left and vice versa ?
If you're running staggered and directional tires you will have to dismount the tires from the rims to rotate.

Offsets are a key factor, but putting wide wide wheels on an SC that will never break traction is not necessary. It will just waste your fuel and force you to buy expensive tires.

First of all go to the giant wheel thread in the main SC forum to gain more knowledge.

If you don't care about looks or wider wheels for traction, why are you bothering with aftermarket rims? 7.5 and 8.5 will not look good.

Just enjoy your stock 16x7 +50
