20's are too big for the IS to be honest. Even if you lower it with just enough clearance for the wheels, the car will still sit higher (4x4 looking) than the rest. Even if you go with coilovers and you raise the ride height a tad, you will clear, but your car will still look like it's sitting stock height. The total diameter including your tires are oversized for the wheelwell. If you can find a 30 series tire or even 25 if they even go that low, I would at least go that route if you don't want to down size to 19s.

19's look fine...20's or more, overkill on a car this size. Kind of like a mullet...to much on the bottom end !!! But then again, some people like mullets, so each to their own.

I don't know about you, or your age for that matter, but the last time I checked....this does not look like a mullet in any which way

Looks pretty good to me. What offset are you running? Does it rub on the lip of the fender or in the wheel well? Sorry to hear your having issues. Hopefully you can get this issue figured out soon. Good luck.

Btw, Mort, I see your point of view also. To each his own I guess. These issues are what is keeping me from jumping onto a set of aftermarket wheels on my whip. I kinda like the sleeper look anyway.

hard check them tire pressures!

As for the question of lowered springs compared to stock , they will ride a little harder but you can adjust that out if you buy adjustable struts.buy the ones ..with 4 or 5 settings of ride quality. KYB, or Takico are good brands!

I'm sorry to be off topic, what are your tire pressure setting if you don't mind?

Yup, each to their own, just looks out of proportion to me for the size and styling of the car...but looks better than 17's for sure...rather go too large than too small.

Dominant1,
Make sure you check it when its cold. The pressure will rise 4-5psi after driving on them so check 'em before you pull it out of the garage in the morning.

I dont know about all of you. But I really like this car's rims. Just get some coil-overs dude and a smaller tire for the front, and you will be styling
