Default Confused about Tein suspension

I've been looking around and decided to go with Tein coilovers now. I was leaning towards the Tein SS for the adjustable damper, but I looked on the Tein website and saw that the Tein Basic for the MKIV Supra is ride height and damper adjustable, along with EDFC compatible. But the one for the SC is only height adjustable and not damper adjustable, and not compatible with the EDFC. I thought we could use the coilover for the Supra and it bolts right in? If this is the case couldn't I just use the Tein Basic for the Supra? I have a local shop near me who sells the set for $675.

Here's the links btw:
http://www.tein.com/ti/t60.html
http://www.tein.com/ti/l18.html

Please correct me if I'm wrong. And also, how much would a set of rubber upper mounts cost me? I'm already looking into getting new LCA and UCA bushings while changing the suspension. And it all adds up. Thanks

this is honestly the 20th question about tein suspension asked in the last month. anyway, basics are NOT damper adjustable. and they DO make them for the 93-98 supra.

ANY COILOVER THATS MADE FOR A MKIV SUPRA WILL FIT A LEXUS SC300. STOP ASKING.

My bad, geez.. Don't have a cow. This is the email Tein sent me:

Thank you for you interest in TEIN high performance suspension products. You can purchase the FLEX damper kit from a Toyota Supra 93-98. These two vehicles utilize the same suspension setup, However; only the FLEX or CST is compatible. You cannot purchase a BASIC/SUPER STREET because it will not be compatible.

If you have any other questions, please let us know.

Best regards,
Sales

I guess I'm gonna go with the SS either way ($890 at a local shop)..

be careful,
make sure that there is enough room in the sc for edfc.
sometimes i believe most suspension would be tradable within car models, but its just the fact that some dont have enough room for edfc and some do.
i suggest u double check, if you guys with the mkiv set on the soarer have edfc, then that solves that.

Question

how are the buddy club coilovers for daily driven cars? Can we use them without the pillowball mounts? How do they compare to the new steel bodied Tein CS coilovers?

The buddy club race specs come with the pillow ball mounts. From my guy he said Tein are great but he thinks that hands down buddy club ones are better. However both are awesome products. My friend has tein's on his gs300 and are very nice, so are the buddy clubs. As for daily driven cars, I have daily driven all of my cars with suspension like this but I guess I'm used to it, The best thing to do is on daily driving since youhave the adjustability might as well set the shocks/struts to soft and then when playing set them to firm.

A lot of people have told me to get BuddyClub coilovers before even considering Tein. Can you elaborate on what specifics advantages BuddyClub has over Tein? I've seen the HKS Hipermax coilovers in person and didn't think it was "all that."

the CS ($1590) from Tein is a 10k/559lb spring up front and a 6k/336lb spring out back. to adjust ride height on these... you have to lower the spring perch. by doing this, you shorten the amount of travel the shock/strut. which means you can bottom out the shock.

the Buddy Club RSD (msrp $1780)consists of a 18k/1007lb spring up front and 10k/559lb spring in the back. to get spring rates like this from Tein... you'd have to get the RE's, which retail for $1920... to lower the ride height on these... you 'shorten' the length of the shock body. so you still have as much travel in the shock/strut whether you're lowered 1" or 3".
