?

Why would they be one inch taller?

is350s have staggered wheels... meaning the rear tires are larger than the fronts

was it a standard spring install or is there something i should take note of? My biggest concern is the alignment/ alignment specs, so please give us an update on how that went...Thanks

BTW- it looks so good w/out the front plate...

They're wider, but everything I read says they are the same height. What am I missing?

255/40/18 and 225/40/18

I don't know why Lexus decided to set it up this way, maybe it helps in making the ride smoother/quieter??

Remember that even though you will see 40 as the tire wall height, that doesn't mean it's the same height. That number just states that the height of the tire is 40% of its width, therefore if you make the calculations you will see that the front's overall diameter is 25.09 inches and the rear's is 26.03 inches.

just quickly measured the tires (mounted). rear is approx 25.25 inches and front is 24.50 inches. so the two have different diameters - and they should be as they are different sizes. i can't remember how it looked like on stock wheels. is the difference less noticeable with the stocks?

UPDATE on allignment. no luck. the shop here in san diego (btw very helpfull) could not obtain the specs. in desperation, they even contacted a lexus dealer. dealer was not willing to help.
oh well. i guess i have to wait longer.

Although the wheels have different sizes, Lexus could have placed a rear wheel with a different spec, like a 245/40/18, which would still be a tad bit higher than the front, but not for an inch and would have looked a lot better.

No they don't. The dealers put them on when the cars arrive. I told them to hand me the frame and front plate and I'll find a different way to mount it. They made me sign a waiver and that was that.
