l tuned shocks and springs installation
I found the l-tuned shocks and springs on sale for $460 on the web. My local dealer wanted $1100 for shocks, springs and installation. Would I be better off paying the $460 and buying the parts and doing my own installation or should I bring it to the dealer?

IMO, the safest route for a GOOD price and timely delivery is to purchase from Steve at Carson Toyota.. 1-800-908-6968 ext 2381
Unless you want the springs/shocks install to be Lexus warranted, you can have NTB, Discount, etc. do the install for half of what Lexus will charge....Tiny

Paul1234,
$175 for springs and shocks including alignment? How long did it take them?
Any problems?
They were obviously your parts...they didn't have a problem installing them since you didn't buy them from them.
Let me know.
Thanks

l tuned costs and labor
I live in the rural part of the ozarks in Ar. (nearest interstate is 90 miles from my house)
Nearest town is 1200 and entire county is less than 13,000.
I called the local Goodyear dealer and told him what I had (99 GS4)and that I wanted aftermarket springs ans shocks installed. He looked it up in his flat rate manual and told me $175 plus alaign. He was awarw that I would supply the parts as he had no idea where you would get aftermarket parts in our area.
It took over 6 hours for them to do the job but they had to stop and work on other drive ins. I think they lost money, but they stood by their quote.
NO NOISE, NO TRACKING PROBLEMS. i'M HAPPY with the parts and installation. Got parts from Carson, with Club Lexus discount was:
Shx $203.00
springs 297.50
st. ecu 125.80
frt sway 269.00
rr sway 230.00
shipping was $45.00
I was charged $100.00 for swapping sway bars, did the ECU myself.
Love the handling, ride is firmer but not enough to pi$$ off the wife. I think the ECU is not a good value, because the "improvement" is so slight/sophisticated [take your pick] as to not be worth the price. The improvement is not good enough to go road racing, so maybe it's worth it at $45.00.
Hope this helps
