Default 93 SC400 radio antenna

Guys,

Don't get mad. I sound proofed my inner rear fenders with a combination of foam and speaker silencing rubber sheet. That quieted her down...really. The problem is that I noticed a thin gauge coax cable hanging down from the power antenna unit. I was going to rip out the little foam that schrouded the rear of the unit and look for the connection. Problem is that I can pick up FM channels eighty miles away and I don't want to mess that up. 30 years in tronics tells me that without an antenna I can't get that performance and connecting two antennas will degrade performance significantly. My antenna cycles with the radio power switch.

Anybody know what that cable is for and if maybe I have an integrated antenna in the windshield.

Or maybe there are two cables for some reason.

Thank You

John
