Default IS250 Lowering With Eibach

For those who own a IS250 and lowered it with Eibach Pro Kit, do you scrape your car a lot? How's the ride quality? I spoke to a couple of IS350 owners and they scrape especially when the car is loaded. I would imagine it's the same for the 250. I've never driven a car this low before and would have to change my driving habbits. I just don't want to pay for something that would cause negative effects. I've already ordered the kit but haven't installed it yet. I'm starting to think twice due to the scraping. How bad is it? Any feedback would help.

the scrapping is not that bad Ben.... plus no one looks under there!! =P.

it will make your ride super sexy with this mean stance...

if anything...you can buy yourself a new body kit later on =)

Ok, that makes me feel better . I can deal with driveways, speed bumps, etc. It's the unforseen dips when you're going fast is what I was worried about. There's a couple of dips on a freeway I travel a lot. If I'm going to scrape each time, then that's a no no. But I know the springs are stiffer compared to stock also. Just compiling everyone's experience before I commit. I don't want to be dissapointed later.

It's only an inch of drop - nothing too extreme at all. If that dip on the freeway is causing you problems NOW, then of course you shouldn't get the springs. However, if your car handles the dips without a problem, the Eibachs won't be cause for concern. Now, where you WILL have to be careful is pulling up to those concrete parking stops... Guess how I learned that one?

Yup, that concrete parking stop or curb, I had a couple of close ones. But I think I have it down packed now. I always park about a foot before it. No, that dip is not causing scrapes now. I don't know what will happen when my car is loaded though (which is rare). Thanks for the feedback.

My IS is higher AFTER dropping it with the Pro kit than my S2000 was BEFORE dropping it.

Its not much of a drop at all. the car had atrocious wheel gap in the front on stocks so installing the springs will alleviate some of it. the car is not low at all - you wont really be able to tell unless theres a stock one right next to you.

I plan to put on new shoes later. I was considering not lowering it with new shoes on. But it just won't look right (IMO).

If I was planning to keep the stock wheels on, I probably would not lower it.

I don't know if it's just me. When I see another stock 2IS out on the road, it doesn't look bad. But then again, I haven't seen one in person that is dropped with aftermraket wheels on except in pictures. I can't wait for the EOS meet later this month.

I installed Eibach Prokit on my RWD 250, someone find my pics for me... I don't have a bodykit yet on my car but it scrapes sometimes, it really depends on where you live, if you live in areas that you don't need to go on much muilti story car parks and go through many speed humps, then you'll be fine. It looks good and it handles not as well as the stock suspension (non sport), I sold my 06 and if I have a chance to get the car again, I'll get a sport model or atleast install the factory stock suspension, the car hugs the road like no other and it's stock! No Stress No Mess! :-D Just my 02 cents.

Matt =)

No not that. It's just your normal "I don't want to screw it up" jitters. I think it will be fine. I've never scraped on this car. I'll just have to be more careful.

Once you've driven a lowered car with bigger rims, you'll get the hang of how and where to drive. You'll find out that your driving habits will change....dramatically. Your girl will probably hate you....

Well my wife doesn't hate me yet. But she doesn't understand why I would want to lower it. She said " isn't it low already?" I told her "if I told you why I'm doing it, you wouldn't comprehend anyway."
