Any updates on effectiveness of products (Michelin , Poorboy, and Mr. Clean, etc.)? I do not like the look of dust.

You will still see brake dust on your wheels after applying these products. The cleaning will be much easier though. I personally don't use any of these products. I just wipe the fronts with sponge/water/dry every other day. It takes less than 5 minutes. The rears get the same thing but only once a week. My wheels never get dark.

Sorry if everyone misinterpreted the post, but I was wondering about a solution to prevent some of the dust. For example, different break pads.

It looks that you have black wheels and will not look as bad as the stock wheels. However, I feel you. I just hate the thought of a layer of brake dust already there after washing the car and driving down the street.

I am waiting for Akebono to come out with ceramic pads for the 2IS. I hear great reviews from guys in the Infinity forum. They are already available for the 2IS (rears only). The fronts will not be available until Q1 2007. Another brand to consider is EBC Red Stuff. They are carbon kevlar pads. I see part #s for the 2IS but none of the distributors have them in stock. If anyone knows of other brands that are in stock, please let me know.

I just let the dust sit there till I wash my car, and that is once a week.

When people ask I tell them its a custom black chrome look I'm going for. :P

I bought the Mr.Clean Magic Eraser a couple weeks ago. After the first day of use I have not used them since. THEY SUCK! Yea they might work a little better than a sponge, but they are so small it takes forever to clean a wheel compared to a regular large sponge. PLUS, they fall apart in your hands.

One way I reduce brake dust is by downshifting more often. Reduces brake dust significantly.

first 3K miles or so it was horrible. almost greasy like dust. 11K miles now and not NEARLY as bad

I hope lexus comes out with a TSB on objectionable brake dust just like they did with the GS a few months back.

I tried this exact product some months back and couldn't detect any benefit at all from using it. I tested it by only applying the product to my front passenger wheel, and leaving the driver's side uncoated. There was ABSOLULTELY no difference between the wheels insofar as brake dust. Don't waste your time or money on this - just stay on top of your wheels with warm water and rags.
