Default Sway bar link play?

Just wondering how much play the sway bar link should have.
I am chasing a ghost at this point with the rattle I am hearing in my driverside front. I have replaced the struts and mounts, ball joints, and WHEEL BEARING( they were going bad at 97K).

The sway bar link seems to have more play moving left to right than I think it should. The right side one seems a little tighter.
Could this cause a slight rattle over bumps?

Lexoos, if you read this......it's been about a year since I have had this car and now it's a mission to get to the bottom of this.......car drives fine .

The end links should be completely solid, as in no play at all. Yes it will rotate and such that is normal, but if you pull it out of the car to inspect and the bolt wiggles around in the joint then there is something wrong.

It is like a ball joint. There should be enough play to twist the rod, but no side to side or up and down play at all.
