Default Eibach (or tein etc) Springs and Tire Wear

Hello all,

I am interesting in getting the Eibach Pro-kit lowering springs...but i cant help but think that it would change the geometry of the tire contact patch. For those who have put this (or any other brands - teins, JIC etc), have you noticed any increased tire wear on the inner edges of the tire?

thanks in advance!

oh...i should have also asked about the effects of smaller offsets (bigger dish) of rims in combination with lowering springs (coilovers). If someone could enlighten me with this, i would most appreciative!

The effects of a smaller offset have been nothing but positive for me.

1. the steering wheel feels more stiffer, and it makes it seem more sturdy when driving at fast speeds.

2. the corning has improved.

3. Treadwear has been about even with the eibach-pro kit.

4. The more u lower = the more camber = more un-even tirewear.

hmm...good point. It would be a bugger if the springs settled unevenly or differently. Although the eibachs, from all accounts, have a pretty good reputation. Does anyone have any bad experiences with the eibach springs?

Any change to suspension height and/or wheel size and offset will require a geometry check and re-adjustment.

I have Eibach springs on my is350 and they ride as good if not better than stock. If you have the AFS option be warned. Some people (including myself) are having problems with the system throwing a fault code to the computer and then flashing the "AFS OFF" light on the dash. I took my car to Lexus of Portland today and was told the lights could be fixed but they would not modify my sensors on the car to do it. I have to figure it out on my own! If you don't have the AFS option I see no problem using springs....

That sucks, I have that option. Has anyone figured out what you can do to prevent this? I currently have the Sport package, and since its lowered from the factory would that still affect the AFS if I lower it some more?

Eibach Pro Kit is a conservative drop. A lot of people install it because it is cheaper than coil covers. Camber will not be off by a lot. If you have a RWD, the only thing you can adjust is toe. As long as toe is aligned, you will not have uneven tire wear.

I have over 9,000 miles on my Eibachs and have absolutely perfect tire wear.
