Default Silk Road springs...What spring rate???

So i'm about to order some custom silk road coilovers made for the supra but i'm gonna throw them on my sc4. When you order them you get to specify what spring rates you would like.....My question is for a daily driver that drifts on the side with the occasional street race what are your guys recommendations on spring rates? thanks in advance.

the sc spring rates for these are 12/8 or u can go get the supra spring rates 18/10. i went with the supra rates. and it's awesome! i wouldnt do mix/match custom rates cuz unless u really know what you're doing and you're familiar with the damper and valving of this particular coilover, it's probably a bad idea

if i had to do it all over again, i would have bought the silk roads in an 18/16

i currectly have the JIC FLT-A2 with 14/10 and it definately is not stiff enough for me, but i do a little more drifting then most people on the street.

i've run the flt a2's and even with a lower spring rate, the silk roads are way stiffer

listen to this man! My Top Secret coilovers finally came in and I was shocked to see Smoky ordered me 14/9. Most of the other ones I had seen were like 18/18 for street spec.....however, I have a feeling the valving is going to be crazy stiff. Also, swift springs usually turn out to be realstic when it comes to spring rates as they are cold wound. If they say 14k, they mean 14k whereas other brands may actually be something like 10k claiming to be 14k. I say go for the Supra settings and then if you want it stiffer, pick up a set of swift springs to swap on.

On http://www.driftfactory.com/product_...oducts_id=2900 it says you can order custom spring rates, what do you guys think would be the best srping rate for a Drifter/ Daily Driver.....these ones are for the MKIV supra but they fit perfectley on my SC400 from what im told..

i'd say that silkroad probably puts alot of research into what is the all around optimal spring rate for the geometry of each car, unless you have a specific type of driving (ie autocross) i'd stick with the factory rates. if you want something stiffer, go with the supra rates. just because custom spring rates is an option, doesnt mean you have to go nuts and get 53kg/50kg. chances are your car might actually perform better with their recommended spring rates. there is such a thing as too stiff
