shaking in the rain
hey everyone. ive read the many posts about the steering shaking at higher speeds. in fact ive posted AND solved my problem... to solve the shaking problem i used the hunter balancing and it did a good enough job that i was satisfied..
BUT.. since ive gotten the balancing ive never driven in the rain at higher speeds ( ~ 60 and up) this is where the problem came back at full force!! im talkin shakin like S@#$!!!!! i was almost scared to drive! under 60 it was smooth as usual.. then after that.. shakin!! can ANYONE help!!! this ONLY happends in the rain so i dont think my rims r bent!! HEEELPPP!! thanks ppl!!

The_Best_GS you are a genus. That was not difficult to figure out. Same ip address different directory. Do you have a server at work or home? I am sure you know how it works.

So Mark, you prefer an Accord and wish you had a BMW and do nothing but complain about your Lexus - why do you keep it?

I think somewhere in here we lost sight of TMasta's problem. And it appears that he solved it for dry weather driving with a Hunter balance but still has problems anytime it's raining. Anyone familiar with his wheels??
Sounds weird to me but the only thng that suggests itself is some pocket formed by the wheel design that is somehow catching water and holding it by centripetal (not centrifugal) force so that the water pocket functions as a temporary wheel weight. But then I'd think that whatever pockets there might be would be present symmetrically, so the theory seems to refute itself.
TMasta, have you by chance kept the OE wheels and tried them? If they perform well both wet and dry then it's your 19s.
Anyone else got any ideas?? As opposed to debating the merits of Accords and BMWs.........

This is speculation but . . .it sounds to me like it could be hydroplaning.
Does it happen in light rain or heavy rain?
How much tread is left on your tires and what kind are they?

Did the shaking go away after you drove for a few miles and the tire heated up?
