Default what factory rims will clear TT brakes

Just curious
what stock rims will clear the TT brakes
I have an SC30 with the TT brakes and I'm looking for a set of inexpensive rims for the winter tires.
I've seen SC's with TT brakes and G35 coupe wheels
and SC430 rims
just wondering what else would clear the big brakes.

I already have a nice set of volks for summer use,
don't want to blow another $2k for winter wheels.

thanks

I use the 350Z touring wheels. 18x8 +30, look decent and can be found fairly cheap.

If you still have your factory SC wheels I would buy a pair of adapters for winter use. Then just take the adapters off when you put your summer wheels back on.

ah, thats a setup I wasn't aware of that....
thanks

I know the SC430 ones are also very very close
even when I had TT rims on there it was still very close.
I could maybe slip a pice of cardboard between the caliper n wheel.
(about the tickness of 19 sheets of copy paper)

uhhh.... i dont think cardboard would be a good idea. It'll most likely put too much stress on the studs, i think u should just buy a spacer to be safer.

he meant that there was enough clearance to fit a piece of cardboard between his calipers and wheels, not use cardboard as a spacer

I don't know if I'm the only one that's noticed this, when we put the TT brakes on, the GS430 wheels clear by LESS than one mm on the lowest part of the caliper. oddly enough, the caliper is tapered by about 1-2mm (from the hub towards the outer part of the wheel if that makes sense), giving the top part slightly more clearance than the bottom.

I thought this was a little strange.

Mine clear on the bottom part by about the thickness of your average business card.

Driven it for a month this way, the TT calipers don't heat up like the stock calipers did, so I'm thinking about skipping the spacers. I've had zero problems with the setup!

NO no no
we're tralking about how close/tight the fit was
I was just sayign thats how much space is between the wheel spoke and the caliper for clearance
I would never use cardboard as a spacer

hmm yeah thats is worrisome,
only a business card thickness??
wow thats one close shave....
wonder if wheel flex would ever come into play, I mean woudl you ever close that 1mm gap under certain conditions??
