I finally found some time this past weekend (it was finally cool enough to work in the garage) to install these bushings which had been collecting dust for a few months in my garage. I never thought my steering was "sloppy" to begin with because I feel like I've been realistic about the design intent and resulting performance expectations of my GS. Although I'm done "modding" the car, I figured for $40 and an hour of my time it would be worth doing given the significant improvement some have claimed to experience with these bushings.

At 125K miles, the original steering rack bushings did not appear "worn" or "used" in any fashion. These really aren't dynamic bushings, so I didn't expect them to be "worn". Yes, the stock bushings are significantly softer than the Daizen replacements by design. Anyway, a test drive after the one hour installation revealed no significant improvement with regards to steering response or NVH. I'm going to be one of the first to say it wasn't worth $40 and an hour of my time sliding around underneath my car on a crawler However, I will say the replacement bushings fit well, the DYI instructions posted here were awesome, and the installation was so easy even a caveman could do it.

I didn't want to wrap things up on a disappointing note, so I cleaned and re-oiled the dirty air filter on the SRT intake and picked up 30HP

You may not feel the results if you do not have many of the other suspension and wheel/tire mods that most of us have. The reduction of play in the steering can be masked by play in the tire sidewalls, control arm bushings, sway bars/bushings, etc.
You can assure yourself that you've taken the play out of your steering rack, and the new bushings are not likely to ever wear out, since the rack does not move significantly.

Perhaps your alignment was off from the start. It could be that your bushings were already worn out before your last alignment.

I got mine installed last week. Took a trip to LV and back. Overall, the steering has more positive response. It is a slight improvement for me. I guess my O.E bushings weren't that bad.

How about If I also replace the stabilizer bushings.

The reason why I am asking is because I just put new struts in the front. I also put new 19 inch wheels. I need to do the alignment but do not want to do it if once I change the bushings I will have to align it again.

Would it be safe to align it and then replace the bushings?

Thanks

Since you need an alignment anyway -- just get all the work done and then do a full alignment on the car and you'll be all set! Best of luck with all your new goodies!

Ok. I am tired of waiting. I placed the order for the searing and stabilizer bushings. It has been over 10 days and I have not yet received anything. I emailed the company 3 times and I get no respond.

Can someone advice me what the problem is.
