Done...was easy...the only trouble was I needed to remove my TOMS front LCB first....then I could reach those bolts. Here's a tip...before a started pounding away on my short nubby screwdriver and hammer, I cut off the lip on one side of the old bushing...that allowed it to free up easier.
As for feeling any difference...not really. I guess my old bushings were still good.

I replaced my bushing with the ones that were just released and I had no problems with the install and man I should have done this earlier. The car almost feels brand new.

Took a drive on the freeway yesterday.....first time going to speeds of 60+ mph after steering bushings were installed.....dang steering started to shake like an earthquake....eventually is settled down....its all good now.

I did mine today. For those wondering, the old bushing sleeve ID is .485. I made my own sleeves because I did not like the fit of the Daizen. Daizen made them from a piece of tubing and the ID is whatever the tubing was no cutting at all. It was disappointing because the tubing was not even DOM it was welded tubing. I guess the cheapest supplier wins the contract again. The poly bushings were very high quality and a great fit.

Hey GSteg, I'm about to order this from Sewell. I'm not sure I follow what has changed on the part from your original post 2 years ago. Could it be the change does not make any improvements over our OEM part? I tightened the pre-tensioner on my 2000 GS400 yesterday and that killed 75-80% of my steering wheel shake at 60mph. I still have some jitter in the wheel, though especially when driving cracks in the concrete, etc. Should I go ahead with this replacement anyway to try and eliminate the last 20%?

man i just read through all 13 pages of this topic getting excited about doing this mod. my car is a 98 with 135k KMs and it has a little play on the wheel so i figured this might be a cheap fix. And now i get to the end of page 13 and find that they've cheaped out and they're not the same part anymore?!?
is there a different supplier that make a better one than these new version Daizen ones?

Cost cutting. The set I have looks like it was something that you could only find in japan. The new stuff looked like Daizen shipped the job overseas to china The cuts to make the sleeve was smoothened out with a metal lathe/CNC machine. The new sleeves looked like they were cut off with a hacksaw.
