e it won't firm up the ride- it keeps the rack very stationary and allows the operation of the steering to do it's job without slop.
Think of it as trying to to cut a long piece of plywood with a jigsaw, it vibrates like crazy making it hard for the saw to do it's work. Now if you have someone keep the board still or you secure the board with clamps then the saw rips right through. I have even heard some say that the tire vibration they used to have was almost gone after doing this mod.
Oem would do the trick but who knows how quickly it would go again and the Daizen would last likely as long as you own your car, maybe it even would cost less than the overpriced Oem stuff,

Either way, whether it be Daizen or OEM, I'm sure Lexus could swap them out in a matter of minutes.

I also know it's only $40 and if it's something easily reversible you may go for it.
btw-those clips are in an envelope postmarked to go out tomorrow.
I had to beg and beg to get them to put in my teins. they actually said yes, then no, then yes again.

Back to Chuck's question -

There wasn't any grease included with the bushing set, so I'm assuming no. I don't these are bushings between moving parts. Seems to me like the original rubber ones are just there to absorb vibration. I guess the rack needs to move a wee little bit.
These things better not start squeaking like the sway bushings, or I'll be bald in no time after pulling all hair out.
I can't see that happening though, since there's much less movement.

One thing i will say after driving around for over a week... the shakes are pretty much gone in my car. BIGGGGG improvement as far as the vibration in the steering wheel.
Prior to the install i was getting alot of shakes. Considering that i have TEIN SS coilovers which are way stiffer than the CS or the Flex plus i have 19's and i drive in NYC (pothole hell)... Its pretty much gone.
The only thing i didn't do because i had to wrap it up because I had to go do something was the sterring pretensioner. need to do that ASAP but i don't see it happening until after the holidays...
as far as a basic mod.

Updated in my first post. Sewell lexus now carries it for only $29.99!!
This is an even better bargain. At this price, there is NO reason not to get one!!
I went outside to see how precise my steering is. If I barely turn the steering wheel, the wheel moves slightly. That tells you how much slop the Daizen bushings had removed. I'm still in shock at how great these are, especially for the price.

Thanks for the great write up!
I'm putting my order in today. Installing the sway bar bushings was pretty easy so I think I can handle this one too. For $30 its a no brainer!
