Help: how to remove the rear rotor?
Help: I can't remove the rear rotor. I've never had it off before and several wacks with a large hammer didn't seem to phase it.
My other cars had a small screw on the surface that connected to the hub, but I didn't see anything on the GS's rotor.
Other than removing the caliper and the cotter pin/wheel nut, is there anything else keeping the rotor in place?
Thanks for your help,
Pat

if you don't have the screw hole then it's an aftermarket rotor. go buy some pb blaster and get it inside where the rotor sits on the backing plate. let it soak a little bit then whack it several times with a rubber mallet or a hammer with the end ducktaped.

Nothing holds them but friction. edit: The parking brake provides lots of nigh-insurmountable friction.
If you have stock rotors, there are two bolt holes.
Bolts: 7mm with a 1.00 threading, 2" long.

Do a thorough search on the forum for the removal of the rear rotors. I had trouble getting mine off as well, but i came across this thread involving a step by step removal of the rear stock rotors. Good Luck!
