Default Is this a fair price for Tein Coilovers & Installation?

I was quoted 1250 for the Tein CS coilovers plus 350 for the install.

If I wanted to add the EDFC controller extra 400 for the part plus another 500 for the install.

I am assuming the price for the coilovers are fair but the installation costs semm a little high. Also, the installation costs for the EDFC seem really high.

Wow, those do seem high. I don't have anything to compare them to, but I plan on getting those coilovers, and that's more than I was hoping/expecting to pay.

I think 350 is a fair price for the install. That included edfc install.

With the proper tools and a lift, they should be able to install the coilovers in ~30-45 minutes max a corner (if the tech knows what he's doing.) $350 is a little on the high side but not totally out of the question.

Just remembered that they will have to remove the liner in trunk so that will add a little time for pulling it and re-installing it. $350 is fair.

So let me get this straight.

TEIN CS = $1250
Install Coilovers = $350
EDFC = $400
EDFC Install = $500

TOTAL is $2,500

I say the price is unfair. The only thing fair is the TEIN CS coilovers pricing.

The EDFC goes for about $340. Installation of the coilovers itself is $150-250. EDFC install by itself is AROUND $116-150. If you do it at the same time, I'm sure most shops would only tack on a extra $50 for the EDFC.

Now if you say they want $500 total for the labor cost of install..well..who am I kidding, that is still too much.

Coil installation goes around 150-250

Installing the EDFC is more expensive than the unit itself? That's kinda funny if you think about it.

Ninezero,

I noticed you're in NJ. Just wondering where are you ordering the Teins from and/or what local shop quoted you?

Thanks

It's a place called Action Tire in Lodi, NJ. I haven't actually ordered it from them yet. I was just quoted the price.

Go over to the group buy section. Carson Lexus is selling the current setup for cheaper.

$1190 for the Coilovers
$40 shipping
$318 for the Current EDFC.

I suggest you look else where. They are rapping you with the installation charge.

usually when a place offers MSRP they include install for free... they ain't givin you a deal anywhere... like i said.. call in saying you have a civic... labor price may change.. that price is outrageous... usually if you buy it from them here in LA install is usually 100 or less...

it was 40 to install on my honda accord...
