Default Raine's Garage Guides: Wheel Studs / Spacers How-To

Hey everyone!

Back when I had a 240sx, I wrote how-to's and guides whenever I did stuff to my car. Now that I have an SC300, I kept it going.

The latest guide (November 20, 2006) shows how I installed spacers / extended wheel studs, and you can find it (and the other stuff I wrote) at my garage guide website:

http://garage.projectraine.com

It's mainly 240sx stuff for now, since I barely got my SC300 in September, but as time goes on there'll be more SC stuff =)

Good writeup about the wheel studs. I didn't know that trick. Thanks!

(As a side note, I also had a 240sx and now own a SC300).

I saw it done in the Philippines a long time ago. My uncle had to replace a stud, and this is how he did it - no air tools, no power tools needed =)

When are you installing new shocks/springs? I need a writeup for that.

I'm one of those guys that needs visuals to do stuff. That, and I don't know if I have all the tools for the job. Don't want to get stuck due to lack of tools. haha.

Where in SoCal are you? I'm in Arcadia.

I'm in Walnut, not too far away. Coincidentally, I'm actually finishing up the writeup on my spring install, hopefully by the end of the week. I did the install about 3 weeks ago but I've been busy with my day job so I didn't get around to it until recently. I did the spacer/wheel stud write-up first, because it was simple and quick. I should have the spring install up soon though, I'll post up here when it's ready (obviously you can use it to do shocks as well since it's basically the same job) =)

Wow...nice writeup. Can't wait to see more . Your 240 looks almost identical to my friends. Its crazy. I am seeing alot of the 240 crowd making the transition over to the SC, thats bad news for me, it'll make it even harder for me to find a 5 spd one.

Cool. I'll wait for your spring install writeup.
I also have some steering rack bushings to install.

Hmmm...I have a stainless clutch line sitting around as well. (I'm selling it here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...82#post2261982)
Also have a slave cylinder in a box.

i like the write up.SCC did this to their 240 back in the day, but i think more argry hammers were involved. yours is a lot more pratical and gets the job done with less anger and more happy mechanics!!! well done

SCC has done a lot of Mickey Mouse stuff before too. Besides, I'm all for less stress these days.
