Default Floating or rocking from front end??

I did some searching on this and didn't really find a similar problem.

I'm getting a "floating" feeling from the front end when accelerating. I feels like a rocking left to right.

Any ideas?

98 GS400
48k miles
17" wheel
New tires (35psi)

Thanks!

It's hard to describe. It's like it sways back and forth just slightly left to right when going out of a dead stop. Once you get to 45 or so it's smooth. Braking is also smooth. I don't know how else to describe it.

I have read a few posts aobut a steering box mod, but don't know if this is what I am experiencing or not.

No.

On accelaration, the front end slightly rocks from left to right. It's not a pull that you would get from tire ware. If you look at the hood, it just kind of "floats" from side to sidt. It's very slight.

I don't know any other way to expalin. Sorry.

The car. It's something in the front suspension.

Ball joints are ok. I'm guessing something with the steering box?

CHeck out your tie rod. IT could be that it's loose (i found mmy driver side loose when i went checked it).
