95+ ls400 brakes DON'T work on 92' sc400
#16
I had the same issue when installing my LS400 calipers on my 93 SC300. All that I needed to do to line it up correctly was slightly grind one area of the caliper that was touching a part of the hub (I think thats what it was, its been a while). I was kind of surprised that they didn't directly bolt on after I had read so many times that they would.

SC400injen would you post what when wrong with you BBK set-up? I'm sure it will be of alot of help to some of our new members. I my self like to know what when wrong, Because I did the supra tt brakes on my SC with no problems.

yes, i gutted the whole dust sheild. the rotor is 12.4" and the calipers are correct but i am going to have to machine grind those down a little so the opposite end of the caliper doesn't hit the rotor. so a little machining, but i have to make sure there is enough surface area for pads, it should be though.
i probably only have to grind about maximum 3/8" off diameter of rotor.
somebody mentioned this earlier in the thread, if you could specify the amount needed to be ground down.
i'll keep you posted
all help was and is greatly appreciated

finally
wusup now here's wut i'm workin' with
see how it's positioned a little angled up not straight vertical
now here's a pic from the back with the stock calipers after i cut the dust sheild away 4 the calipers. after i tried, should've taken pics, put the stocks back on.
that's weird
but i'm probably going to get the rotor machined down, in diameter, after i take some measurements.
just lettin ya'll know what the deal is

I have the LS brake upgrade. Mine went on without ANY issues at all. There was NO cutting of the dust shield involved. I just unbolted it and took it off completely. Why would you waste time cutting the damn thing when you can just remove it??
I mean seriously, search and read the threads by people who have already done this mod and you won't encounter tons of issues. This is an easy, direct bolt-on mod that can be done in about 2-3 hours max.

the rotors are the right size but to line up with the caliper correctly, the rotor has to be smaller in diameter but the real question i am asking is, does any of your setups look like this, talkin' bout' the positioning of the caliper, let me know
