Default Worn Bump Stops on Shocks

My bump stop is all old/messed up, should I really replace my bump stop even though I will be lowering my car pretty soon since most people cut their bump stops in half? Am I missing half of my bump stop or the full thing? I can't tell...Any of you have a picture of a bump stop in it's original form?

Just found out today that both sides were like this, I am guessing worn shocks caused this to happen from bottoming out the shock on some bumps.
