Default SC400 brake pads?

I've done a search so please dont blast me.

For SC400 -What alternatives for a good street pad are there to oem, EBC, and Axxis ultimates?

I've used Axxis mm on a 240 I had and liked those, but they don't make them for the SC4 They also don't make the Hawk HPS for SC4

Anybody got a suggestion for pads for the SC4?

green stuff stops your car great. But it will warp your rotor => personal experience.

FYI if you get green stuff or any upgraded brake pads you need to change all the pads to upgraded pads. green stuff stops ok, after awhile makes alot of dust. i would upgrade to supra tt or ls 400 brakes.

Research my friend. The Axxis Metal Masters name changed to the Deluxe Plus pads. Same pads, new name.

I actually have a new set on my work desk, PM me if interested.

Judging from this site, looks like the Deluxe are an Organic Replacement

The MetalMasters were also called XBG. You can try to search for those.

A lot of people here on the board used to swear by a company called "irotors." I have ordered from them before. They carry the complete Axiss line. Give them a call.

Default brake pads

Guys,

I have had a nightmare experience with AXXIS metal pads. I have never in my life heard so much screeming noise come from a set of disc brakes in MY LIFE. People on the sidewalk grab their street ear and duck as I go by. REALLY! I have redone the install 5 times and htey were still grossly unacceptable even inside the car. My street tracked my comings and goings and htey let me know they were not amused. I even drove the car for 3 miles dragging the brakes so hard the car would only do 45mph. The rotors were hot enough to have sex when I got home and I went back on the freeway and drove 10 miles to cool them down. The squeel is greatly reduced to the point where people are taking potshots at me but don't give chase.

I was told long ago that the best pad fro stopping and dust and noise was the Toy/Lexus pad oem. I am upgrading my brakes to the 4 piston LX400 and I have purchased the oem pads. Also I did not get new shim kit and I didn't put squeel stuff on the pad backing plate this last time as Lex said it wasn't required. I WILL DO THAT WITH THE NEW ONES!!!!! You betch'um Red Rider!

Good luck

John
