Lexus IS350 Brakes
Hi guys im new to club lexus and i know brakes have been a very hot topic that everyone has been talking about. I have only 4,000 miles on my car and my brakes are already starting to squeak. I took it to the dealership and they said that they can't do anything about it. Has anyone else had this problem and what have they done, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your brakes are fine, I was told this and it worked like a charm, go to a STRAIGHT road that you know is empty or will be empty. go about 30 to 40 mph then BRAKE really hard. do this 3 or 4 times. the squeaks will be gone, if not then your brakes really are faulty. In most cases this will solve this minor issue. Cheers!

My brakes started to squeak at around 700 miles. I did the 30-40 mph stop but that solved the problem temporarily. It came back after 200 miles or so.
So than I got fed up again, because I was at Costco and my brakes were squeaking and people were even looking at me. Pretty embarassing brakes squeaking on a car with less than 1k miles.
So after Costco on my way home I hit 90+ mph cuz I was mad. Slammed on my brakes at around 90 mph. I even heard my brakes squeaking at 90 mph (first time I heard this at high speeds).
After that no more squeaking.
I think the key is to go alot faster and than step on your brakes. 40 mph is not enough IMO.

It all depends on how you drive most of the time. Properly bedded brakes can become un-bedded if you go long periods of time (or miles) without letting the pads reach high enough temperatures.
When brakes are cold, the pads and disk surface are basically just grinding on each other, which removes the "bedded" surface from each material. However, when the brakes are at normal operating temperature, the pad and disk actually interchange material instead of just grind it off.
