18 inch wheels but no suspension drop?

Lexus Test Driver
Hey man-- SC's are already pretty low -- you're gonna need some stairs to step down into your car if you lower it more than they already did--
Keep in mind that some very well paid engineers who helped build a car company to what is now the #1 luxury brand in the US for least problems and owner retention [That's Lexus ) spent painstaking hours designing the suspension geometry on your vehicle so that it would perform flawlessly for a very long time--
Do you believe your opinion on appearance supercedes their knowledge of function?
The lower arm is parallel to the ground at stock height if I remember correctly, which will fight body lean with a vengeance if you have a good swaybar and good bushings-- If you drop the car you change the angle of the arms and will create a condition where your car will have more leverage against the lower arm when cornering hard--
The farther up or down the arms move the more bind the suspension is in- the strut mounts, the steering rack, the bushings--
BUT--
It sure looks good !

Looking for those rims
Hi, I have a '99 Black SC400, and love those rims on the black one pictured here. What brand are they and where did you get them? They look perfect to me. Thanks!

Coilovers, strut/spring combo or even just mildly lowered springs... anything to bring the car closer to mother nature. I would've gone that route except I got my wheels for sweet f.a.
For reference...
Stock height... yuck!
Current... only about 2" front and 1.5" rear.
Nothing ridiculous in terms of lowering but it does the job for now, doesn't bounce around like a lot of lowered cars here in Sydney and does the car and wheels more justice (I still wanna replace the wheels though).

^ This thread is from 2007. You're not going to get a response. But those rims looks like stock rims from another car, likely some sort of Australian car since he was posting from Sydney.
