18 inch wheels but no suspension drop?
anyone doing this now? i would honestly rather not deal with lowering my car... wondering if anyone has a stock suspension set up and is running an 18 inch wheel set up. if yes, what kind of tire specs do you have? i want the larger wheels but without the obvious wheel gap. i saw this on craigslist for sale and the guy said he had a stock suspension set up...
any advice would help. thanks.

18's on the stock suspension looks better than 16's or 15's on the stock suspension. 18's on a dropped suspension just looks uncommonly good. A big car deserves big wheels. You get too big on the stock suspension, you risk looking like an SUV. Nevertheless, look at the picture: the car looks good. Would it look even better with a drop? Of course. If you changed nothing about the suspension, would your car still be admired by many a motorist? Absolutely.
Obviously, this is subjective and entirely my own opinion. There is no gospel on the proper wheel size for an SC at stock height. But, it is almost universally agreed upon that the SC will only look breath-takingly good when dropped.

I have toyo proxies T1R's 245's on the front and 275's on the rear...works great! Sometimes my car looks lower because it's white, so it just depends upon the lighting of the day and such, I say if you can afford, then go for the drop!
I'm doing the lower control arms before I lower the thing.

Firstly it helps if your car is darker as the gap is less visible (except to those that own a dark coloured car).
Secondly, 18's and stock suspension = You can get a set up that will still allow for similar comfort levels with a reduced ride height. I currently only have lowering springs in my Soarer (as I have no need for a complete adjustable set up... yet ) and it looks a lot nicer while retaining most of the ride comfort of stock. They're custom made too.
Don't get aftermarket wheels and keep the stock suspension, the car will look like it's on stilts and the rest of the funky bunch

I have 18x8 on all 4 corners w/ 245/40 series tires all around. I have a 93 5 spd sc300, and the cars got more grip than power.
The gaps is pretty large, I would lower it. Almost a 5 finger gap.

I am running 18x8/18x9 staggered setup with 35 offset front and rear on my Tork Imagines, tires are 225/40 front and 265/35 rear. There is still an obvious wheel gap but mostly in the front. The rears look about like I want them to but I think my suspension is just worn out. I am going to lower it as soon as I can get the time...going to use Tokico HPs with Tanabe NF210s, but with the wide rears I may have to roll the rear fenders depending on how much it actually lowers it.

Rears are bald DR's. I now have a 285's back there. Stock suspension with no intentions of lowering. I want this car to hook unlike my last one that was lowered.

do what you guys wanna do. but personally I think putting on bigger wheels without lowering your car is fugly. The Fitment is ugly and the monster truck heigh is even more present than stock
