If his service manager said it, then I'd maybe believe it, otherwise, I think it's all speculation.

The service person that said it is someone that has been in their service department for a super long time. So I don't know.

Can anyone confirm this??? Do the replacement pads contain asbestos?
Unless these pads were manufactured in the late 70's, I seriously doubt there's any asbestos in these new pads. Lexus doesn't "make" these brake pads anyway, so a service tech wouldn't have any more idea of what goes into these pads than any other common Joe.

That's what I was saying! Too bad there's no real way to 100% confirm that the pads DO NOT have asbestos though.

^There's also nothing that suggests that they DO contain asbestos...

Is there a TSIB for the 08's? When i had my car at the dealer for another issue i asked them to do the TSIB on the breaks and i was told that it did not apply to the 08's.

Last I checked they had not updated the TSIB to include 08s, which is unfortunate. Some dealers do it anyway as a courtesy, but many do not.

Yup... they updated the TSIB to include 08s a month or two after the last post in this thread (and hopefully you found the thread about that in your search when you found this one)

In regards to the TSIB for the 2007 Lexus IS250 and the front brake dust problem I just had mine taken care of by Longo Lexus with 24000 miles on the car.
