Default 250 owners: hold off brake pad TSIB till later

I went to get the TSIB for 250 brake pads done today and was recommended to wait a couple months because there will be a TSIB for the rotors coming out. Changing the pads now may deem new rotors unnecessary later since most of the brake dust issue would have been taken care of by updated pads.

They didn't say an exact time for the rotors TSIB but it should be out in a few months.

This was at Steven's Creek Lexus in norcal. Let us know if other dealerships are confirming this.

Whats wrong with the IS250's rotors?? I never heard any complaints about them warping or anything like that.

I remember they told me they changed the brake pads and rotors as well. At least, that's what it shows on the RO.

Do you guys know what the part number for the rotor is?

Changing the rotors will probably affect the braking performance even more right?

not sure what is exactly wrong with the IS 250 rotors, but when i swapped pads a couple months ago my mechanic mentioned that after the rotors were cut they probably will have to be replaced on the next set of pads since there was not much material left for the next brake job. im thinking maybe the rotors are thin and might be prone to warping?

The reason I got was to lessen brake dust.

I have never seen brake rotors cause a brake dust issue in 20+ years of auto repair.

Yes, the 250 has been added to the TSIB for the 350 (and others.)

Sunnuva b&tch!! That's just what I thought it might be...but it seemed too easy to get it on the first guess.

Thanks

Got my pads done today. Dealer also machined my rotors for free. All is good!
