Probably a seized brake caliper pushing the pad against the rotor.

If that is the problem, you can get a caliper repair kit or just replace the caliper. It is probably better to find a used caliper and just replace it.

oh crap i just started having this problem too and it completley killed my rear pads. i was kinda hoping that it was just because the rotor is warped. i'm guessing thats not the problem though. kinda to be expected though because this july my front caliper seized too. oh well.

The issue I have had has been with the bearings in the rear right and the front left. The rear right was replaced later to find out that the front left was making a cracking sound when you turn. The symptoms of the rear right was a constant grinding sound.

The front bearing are cheaper than the rear, but it's pretty labor intensive according to the mechanic. I've seen what he's had to do, as well... And no, my mechanic is not typical by any means.

sounds like wheel bearings to me aswell, i could be wrong though, but itll only get worse and end up damaging the spindle, on my old te72 corolla the f/r wheel almost flew off the car when it happened to me on the freeway, not sure if our cars are built the same but it wasnt a fun situation by any means...

turns out it wasn't the caliper. i guess the the rotor was more warped than it hought and the two "V" clips were missing on the calipers so they were always dragging more than they should have. there was nothing but metal on one of the pads and some deep scoring on the rotor. all fixed up now except the rear emergency brake spring retainer (or whatever its called) kinda caused some issues. it went on weird and was hitting on the hub and made weird sounds. i think i got it now but only time will tell if it'll go back and start hitting the hub again

I've been having this problem lately too. Ever since I replaced my rear rotors, there has been a rubbing noise coming from the back of my car when I drive down the road. I dunno, maybe I put the rotors/calipers back on the wrong way or something... I need to take a look at it soon.
