What's difference in firmness and handling between the Bilstein HD's and their Sports?

jbw, I used the Sports, but I think the HDs are supposed to be closer to stock in terms of firmness. I think the Sports are the happy medium between stock and a coilover. Remember that if your suspension is so firm that the tires are loosing contact over rough road surfaces, you have no traction which defeats the purpose of upgrading in the firstplace.

Anyways, I would of recommend you to buy a set of used coilovers on the forum (usually pops up here for $800-1000 for a good set). Shops usually charge less to install coilovers VS springs/shocks because theres no disassembly and reassembly of the spring and shock unit. The coilover is a direct drop in a go affair.

But, with that said...Bilstein's lifetime warranty isn't too shabby either
If it helps to at least minimize that body roll well I'm up to having it replaced. I have brand new Tanabe DF210's and Bilstein HD's in their boxes ready to be installed. The same highway off-ramps that I drove on with my GS, my wife's Infiniti I30 was going faster on the ramp and felt more controlled as opposed to my car.

MrG4Life, do your lower ball joints and tie rods at the same time as the springs/shocks. The labor cost is less since the front is already disassembled. Daizen Poly steering rack bushings are also reccomended. With those mods to the GS, your wife's I30 will feel like a golf cart in comparision. ;-)

Interesting, never even thought about that. Gotta find out if the guy I'm taking it to will do that for me.

Peter at Sewell Lexus has the OEM parts you need, and the SR bushings.

i can definitely echo these comments on the bilstein/eibach setup.

i had that setup but the bumpstops weren't cut so i thought it was too harsh. went with the tein CS v1 and i kinda think it's too soft. bought the eibach/bilstein setup AGAIN and now it's sitting in the garage... just staring at me... just begging me to be put back in again...

one of these days i'll swap them back in and sell the tein cs.
