HELP! What suspension set up to use????
If anybody could help me out I would appreciate it.... Trying to lower/improve handling on my IS and I don't know which set up is best? Should I go with Eibach pro-kit springs and koni shocks, H+R springs/koni shocks, coil overs or what???? Eibach has the pro damper kit coming out if february- anyone know if that is worth waiting for? I really want to lower it as much as possible without sacrificing the ride... and of course, only want the best-Thanks!

Thanks, do you think I should definitely go with coil overs over a spring/shock set? What are the advantages and is the extra $$$ really worth it?? I think the HKS coilovers you were talking about are around $2,700, any ideas where I could get these WHOLESALE???!!! I don't know if I want to spend that much on suspension, are there any other high quality coil overs cheaper than the HKS series 2?

there are tons of options... just depends on what u want/need.. i have the Tein ha coilovers and they are great... if u dont plan on adjusting height or dampening, u probably dont need coilovers.. i plan on track racing, thats why i bought coilovers..

I'm running the Tanabe coilover and it works really nicely. The ride is still good - and the handling was really improved.
I have a couple of friends that own this set up and nothing but good things so far.

How much of a different ride do you get out of coil overs? I don't want to lose much of the "nice" feel of the stock, but I do want improved handeling. Am I just smoking crack?

Changing your suspension setup will result in a loss of your "cushy" feeling. It's all very subjective. I don't mind the ride on my car, it is firm enough to be considered a vast improvement in handling, but with the shorter shock, it keeps the ride relatively comfortable. You want to keep the ride nice and soft. Then don't lower it.
But then again if you were to get nice wheels for the car, boy would it look whack.

you have to check your opportunity costs, - handling, versus comfort
but then again - if you are on this board then you will want handling - Tein, HKS, Tanabe is all good, I like Tanabe because they are known in Japan for their suspension. Their customer service is better than the others, and plus - if you find others with the Tanabe suspension like myself, you will find nothing but good comments.

BTW - most magazine editors will agree, Tanabe is a great suspension setup for most cars, - Turbo mag, Super Street, etc.

The Ltuned package is very good. It just depends on what you want out of your car. Getting an adjustable coilover lets you fine tune the suspension - Rude height, damping force, etc....
