one more thing - these prothane bushings are well designed - they fit together with a small gap in between them in the housings, so if zerk (grease) fittings were to be added, they could be and it would disperse the lube properly, also, they have lateral grooves on the center bushing surface that seems to retain the lube well, also, the bushings are actually bigger than the stock bushings, so they actually control fore-aft movement, not just radial movement...

ebay...

the only place I could find anyone that actually had them in stock and ready to ship - everywhere else needed 10 days to ship them (and their prices were higher too)

How satisified are you with your bushings? I'm thinking about buying a set for my 1998 GS 300. I'm trying to compare these Prothane to the Daizen ones. Does anyone know which one is better for ride quality?

They should be close to identical - both being polyurethane...

I like the design of the Prothane bushings better, and have always had good luck with them - With their design, you could even install grease ports in each bushing housing to re grease them in the future - I don't think the Daizen would allow for this...

I have had no squeaks or weird noises, though they are still fairly new... I specifically like their two piece design - it just makes sense to me I guess...

Thanks for the reply, but when you say that it's a 2 piece design do you mean they are like half circle each and tightened together with the grease? Btw, I believe the Daizen bushings do have the grease slots as well.

no, each side is half, meaning you slide one piece in from one side, and the opposite from the other - this has worked exceptionally well in the past and prevents anything from moving fore/aft as well

I am trying to do this install without a press.

How do I get the sleeves out?

The strut rod and upper control arms are a pita...prothane should have designed these bushings in order to keep the sleeves in place!

I already removed the bushing.....kind of screwed over here...

Didn't know I had to remove the sleeve to make the new bushings fit.

Now my car is stuck on jackstands, lol.

I am contemplating on just making new bushings out of aluminum...we shall see

you could cut the sleeve out with a dremel...

I've done that before with motor mounts... kinda pain in the ***, but it works...
