I ended up lathing down the bushings at a machine shop. Easy as pie, took about 2 hours (including training on using the lathe).

Now...I cant get that stupid nut in place on the upper control arm (between the subframe and body)

WTF? how is it done? The side towards the front of the car is easy as pie, but the other end is just a nightmare...

magnetic extension, hold it in place til you get the bolt started, then hope it all tightens down... when I say magnetic extension, I'm talking about one of the extending things that look like an antenna with a magnet at one end - you need something small to push it in there...

Did Prothanes on about 4 of my cars in the past. Best way I found to get old bushings out have been using MAP gas and a hand torch. Light it up and watch the swelling rubber expel the inner sleeve like a bodybuilder dropping wolf bait. Plus, fire can be fun.
