Supra front lower control arm
#17
Just bought a pair of Supra front lower control arms (LCA) from Carson Toyota. Will get them put in later this week at a shop in Baltimore.
As far as the hardware is concerned, do the math.
Lexus:
Part number 48069-29215 (L) --- $700
Part number 48068-29215 (R) --- $700
Toyota:
Part number 48069-14080 (L) --- $220
Part number 48068-14080 (R) --- $220
Additionally, labor hours for this install is all over the board. Make sure you are not getting DOUBLE booked for the install, assuming you are doing both sides. For instance, one side takes 2.5 hours. Doing both sides should NOT be 5.0 hours.
Hope this helps.
Thank you.

The supra does have uppers and lowers but the uppers hardly ever go out. I changed my lowers at 84k and a 92 and they were fine actually. I was quite upset the dealer claimed they were bad when I did the pre-inspection on the car with them.

I understood there is no meaningful difference in the suspension specs on the TT and N-A.

Tomorrow, I've made an appointment with a local tuner shop, JE Import Performance , to get the install. They are quoting me a max of 3 hours. At 85/hr, that's around $255. I hope they get it done in 2 hours
But...if you all can help I'd accept that too. Just tell me when!

Why dont you just do this yourself? Its not that hard at all. I just finished mine like a month ago. There are plenty of SC folks, myself inclusive, that can lend a hand and tools to do the job. Of course that depends on what they are charging you to do the work. If its less than $250 then could be worth having someone else do it I guess.

When I spoke with the sales representative (last week) at Carson Toyota, no distinctions were made between the N/A and TT lower control arms (LCA). From the calls and part number, I believe the 2 types of Supra uses the same LCA. My 2 cents
