just received my SUPRA LCA from CARSON, cant wait to put it in. My old stock LCAs give me a nasty negative camber!!!

 

Wow this is the kind of info that is just priceless. Here I was at my mechanic today and he priced out new front LCA for est. $700. Good thing he let me sleep on it, now I can bring him the good news.

BTW would it be better to get a hold of these parts first (if so do dealers sell these?) and have a mechanic install em for me?

 

You can either order from Carson or Toyota dealer ships, but i ordered mine from carson because it was cheaper and it took only 'em about 3-5 days to get it shipped. And it saved me more than $100 dollars.

these things are damn heavy like 20 pounds a piece

 

TankMR, if you dont mind throw it on the scales and weigh it, then if someone has the 98-99 aluminum we can compare weight. I know the alum. is almost double the cost.

 

That would be an interesting comparison. I just don't have anything close to a scale lying around...

 

Are the aluminum ones as strong as the pre-97 LCA's though?

 

As I was backing up today and cutting the wheel sharply, the car felt like it was bump and jerking like my Chevy 4x4. Im supposing thats the worn LCA bushings?

 

BTW QWKSC, a 95 Corvette has Alum. LCAs, also if they put them on a 98 Supra, they must be pretty good.

 

first off a 95 corvete not the best car ever made lol. On the Lca's especially with stiffer aftermarket bushings I'm wondering if these alum arms are as strong as they need to be I doubt I should be concerned, but I'd hate to shell out that much money only to have em break on a track

 

If you think a manufacturer like Toyota would make a factory control arm that was not tough enough to stand up to normal use (i.e., not rockcrawling or something), then you're not thinking along the right lines. They're tough enough, believe me.

Close, 97-00 SC lca are aluminum. Additionally, so are 97-98 Supra lca.
