Default Has ANYONE installed lowering springs themselves???

If so, can you please let me know if it was fairly easy for a spring install, or is the lexus more complicated than most cars?

How long did it take?
Any special tools required before starting?

Thanks

Yes. There are ppl who have taken it upon themselves to install. You need to get a spring compressor. I would just take it to a good shop & have it done that way. Save yourself the hassle. Unless of course your feeling ambitious

Im gonna install mines this weekend. My wheels should be here soon so I want the springs to settle first. Its easy if you have done it in the past. The only thing is that you should adjust the AFS if necessary. Ive seen some people on the board that didnt even need it done. Im just trying to find the proper tq for all the bolts.

Ive done it on my 350z, took about 5 hours with some friends. The worst part was removing some bolts with basic hand tools, if I had an air compressor, tq wrench, and spring compressors I can't imagine it being TOO hard..

What do you mean adjust the AFS? Whats AFS?

I installed mine myself without help in just a few hours. I thought it was about as easy as any other car I've done. If I remember correctly, the only thing I remember being a PITA was pressing down the front or rear hub enough to get the assembly in and out of position. That would have been much easier with someone standing on it. I didn't have to pop any knuckles or anything either. Pneumatic tools were a considerable time saver though (especially when compressing the springs).

You may not have AFS (adaptive front lighting system, or something).

It looked easy enough while watching it, but ease of installation really depends if you have the right equipment...

Yes, its all about the tools.

If your asking how easy/hard then it would be safe to assume you dont have the tools. Course you CAN Macgyver the springs with a ratchet type tie down straps BUT i dont recomend this AT ALL

u should get the clam spring compressor thing. it is much safer than the one that goes on each side... cause that involves a LOT of work. and you gotta compress one side a little then the other, or else it gets complicated. lol

Go to Advanced auto parts or something and rent a spring compressor for free.

I just installed my coilvers this morning, it took me about 6 hours. Took my time and torqued every single nut and bolt.
