for our cars yet (i.e. Bilstein, Tokico, Koni, etc.)? I really don't like how the stock shocks bottom out so easily when you use lowering springs. Or maybe the tech did not cut enough of the bump, but I hit a pot hole the other day and it bottomed pretty bad, bad enough to where I am pretty sure teh shock bottomed. SO maybe he trimmed too much, but in any event when you use up the first bit of travel it gets pretty stiff. Maybe the springs are just overly progressive.

if you have the bump stop in there that only cut 10mm its not gonna bottom out that easily...you are probably hitting the bump stop which is causing your spring rate to go crazy.

so what are you saying. I should not run a bump stop? Or the mechanic did not cut them? He said he did, but there is really no way to tell till tomorrow when I get my tires and wheels put on. I will take a look then.
I would never remove the bump stops for fear of bottoming and an unsmooth transition in the suspension at the limit.

no but if you only told him to cut 10mm or whatever the instructions say...its gonna be only 5/8 inch which is nothing considering you are lowering the car more than an inch.
I usually cut at least half the bump stop on any car i lower.
also you can't see the bump stop unless you take the shock off...there is a boot covering the shock shaft.
