Default Weird braking problem??

I own a 99 SC300, it seems everytime I wash the car or it rains that this weird thing happens with the brakes.

It's usually the first ride I take in it after it's rained or has been washed, whenever I try to come to a stop it feels like the brake pads arent fully trying to hold on to the brake discs. While this is happening there's always a hard/deep sounding grinding sound.

The first thing I thought of was I'm low on brake fluid/I need to replace the brake pads/need to buy some new brake discs.

But I'm not too sure, so I'm asking your help on this subject.

Have you had this problem or anything similar to it? And what did you do to fix the problem?

Thanks alot guys.

That is your pads removing the thin layer of rust that builds up from the moisture. Happens to us all (without zinc coated rotors), and is no cause for alarm.

even zinc coated rotors are not immune... as soon as you use the brakes, the zn coating is worn off everywhere the pad touches... good thing about them tho is that the pad wears the rust off real quick as soon as the brakes are applied and everywhere that isn't touched by the pad has the zn coating to prevent rust...
