Did they replace your rotors with the brake TSIB?

Took it to the dealership here...Lexus of New Orleans. I didn't even ask for them or know they were gonna replace them. I just told the service guy I wanted the brake TSIB done cause I was getting a lot of brake dust. He was like "ok, yea we got the different brake pads for your car." It wasn't until when I picked up my car that I saw the part numbers for the rotors and his notes on the invoice.

No. It's TSIB - Technical Service Information Bulletin.

Besides getting something for free, what is the big deal about changing out the rotors if there was nothing wrong with them when the old pads were on? The TSIB was done on my car at around 12k miles and Lexus told me the rotors were fine, so they weren't changed.

Brake engineers would tell you new pads with used rotors is better than new pads and new rotors. I didn't ask for them, didn't get them, and am very happy they didn't change my rotors.

To address the constant squealing from the front brakes (after having two sets replaced), Lexus came out with updated pads, that have so far taken care of the issue (8/6/07).

Replaced the pads and turned the rotors since there is only 4k on the clock. Also performed the first oil change. Told them to take there time since they gave us a new RX330 for a day as a free loaner.

Has anyone had any luck with any of the DC area dealers (Lindsay, Pohanka, Rockville or Silver Spring) replacing or resurfacing the rotors for free while performing the TSIB brake dust work?
