Default Wheel bearing damage?

Would my car making a pulsating vibration sound of one of the wheel bearings were damaged? I had all my wheels balanced, but I'm still hearing and feeling a very faint vroom.......vroom........vroom.... vibration sound only on the highway. It's barely noticeable, but if your on a smooth highway with no wind noise or other cars, you can hear it and feel it.

It's the tires. I've noticed my RE050s are much louder as they approach end of service life.

^^not only that, but it will get much louder very quickly. The odds of having a wheel bearing fail on a Toyota that isn't regularly tracked with under 100k on the odometer is tiny. It's almost unheard of.

Well, my car started making the noise after I did a U-turn into a pretty deep pot hole. The street was flooded and I was turning around. The shoulder of the road is dirt and when I went back there the next day when all the water was gone, there was a big pothole where the dirt and asphalt meet. My alignment was off quite a bit, the steering wheel was between 12 and 1 o'clock. I took it to my dealer to get an alignment but they said nothing else was damaged underneath. They told me it might be because I need to balance the front wheels. I got the wheels balanced and Sam's club and it didn't solve the problem.

They didn't check it? You took a hit hard enough to knock out the alignment and they didn't check the wheel bearings and all the bushings? That's lame.

Had you initially mentioned the hole, I would agree, there may be an issue. I was under the impression it just spontaneously started making the noise.

its probably the wheel bearing. if you increase your speed the vibrations should become more intense, especially if you are turning. since you say you made a U-turn, its the left front wheel bearing. you probably can feel vibrations through the floor when turning left.

I was making a left U turn and my right front tire went off the asphalt and into the pothole in the dirt shoulder. I only hear and feel the vibration at 70mph+. It's a very faint sound and you can barely feel it unless you turn off the stereo and concentrate on it. It doesn't get louder with speed and my car has also always made kind of a rubbing sound when doing U turns and 90 degree turns.

I've had several wheel bearings fail, but I'm sure they were usually track related. Whenever they failed, the noise was much more pronounced when I would turn one direction or the other. I could also feel a significant difference in temperature by touching the center of the wheel after a long / fast drive on the highway (no brakes). If 3 wheels are cool, and 1 is hot... guess what...

I was involved in an accident where the hub bearing was damaged and wasn't replaced. I could hear a pulsating droning sound similiar to what the OP stated and it would be clearly audible around 50-60 mph. I also felt a very faint vibration.
