Questions about camber/lowering
I just bought a used 350 from a very cool guy. He did some nice things to it before i bought it. ONe of them was ibach pro lowering springs. Now bare with me because this is my third car in five years and the last was a 250. I dont know a lot about cars, i am a sportbike guy. anyways i digress. he lowered the car and as i understand it, when you do that you add a negative camber to the wheels, which pull the top of the wheel in a little and also pulls the wheels in as well? well to fix this he purchased some custome made spacers. very heavy duty ones. i will try to put pics on later. so this sets the wheels back out to be flush with the body. now the thing that i am curious about is that the camber is still there, meaning the tops of the wheels tilt in a little. which i dont need here in OKlahoma where there is no turns and it is always straight. i want there to be zero camber and want them to be back to stock vertical to avoid wearing the insides of the tires our in a third of the time. is there anything i need to put on the cars supsension or whatnot now that it is lowered to rectify this? sorry for the long post, i am a very long winded person. thanks so much guys for the help i konw you are all so good at giving. and i am also glad to have stepped up to the 350.
One more thing, is this the main IS website for 2gen. I am on My.is as well but seems much less populated.
thanks

I understand that there is no camber adj on the 350. I wore out the inside of my right front Dunlop in 10k miles. Got new tires. Had the toe-out changed to toe-in, but only have about 1k on it, so far. The guy that aligned it didn't know why it wore out, since it was "within spec".
There's also a 'lexus owners club' site, but it has much less usage than this one.

There are a lot of ways it can be "in spec" and still be jacked up. I had the camber and toe on my rear wheels of my Supra dead on spec according to the alignment rack and wore out a set of tires in 6k miles. They never got set to factory spec again.

you can either put the original springs back in or you can get a camber kit to fix the camber. On any other car I would say keep the negative camber and just rotate your tires more often. But since you have a 350 you can't rotate tires.

so is it just standard for anyone that has their x50 lowered to have some negative camber to their tires. I mean i have unlimited tires for four years but i am sure that it doesnt cound if i am driving them on sidewalls.

If you wear out the inside edges of your tires with less than -2.0 degrees of camber, I'll give you a medal. I've been running -1.5 on my Supra forever without any ill effects and did the same on my Scion tC, again with no ill effects.

What does the camber sit at when the car has been lowered about 1 1/4 inches? I am about to take mine in after I lower the front right 1/8 inches more. All I know is that my car corners pretty well with all the negative camber it has now, which is bad for my $1300 tires, hehe.
