Question lowering springs

I was wondering if anyone can give me suggestions on what kind of lowering springs are good for the IS. I don't want to go to low...probably like 1 1/4 - 1 1/2 inches. Any suggestions?

Go with Eibach they are about 1 inch. If you want it to be lower look into H&R about 2inch

Make sure you get new shocks along with the springs. You don't have to, but it's a good idea to get a new set of shocks. I would have to recommend the TRD 5way Shocks, I only hear good things about them. Combine the TRD shocks and Eibach and I believe you should have an very close to OEM ride comfort.

I know its not that good for the stock shocks but whats the worst that could happen?

I have a suspension setup that satisfies me and my wife.

TRD race sway bars
TRD adj. shocks
Eibach Pro Kit springs

For daily driving, I keep the settings soft. My wife drives the IS 300 on weekdays.

When I get the car and head into the mountains, I firm up the shock settings.

The ride of the car at soft settings is very similar to OEM, just at a lower ride height. I got a 1.2" drop all around.

hey risk. what do you exactly do to tighten or soften up the trd shock settings? also, when it is tightened... does it leave the car at a higher setting?

Does Tokico or Bilstein have adjustable shocks too?

I got the TRD shocks a while back from Rod Millen. Steve Ganz should be able to get them for you.

I "tighten" or firm up the shocks via a clicker dial on the top of the shock.

Increasing the setting on the shock does not affect the ride height of the car.

Bilstein shocks are not adjustable and I don't know if Tokico currently makes shocks for the IS 300.

Fairuza11,

I agree. If this guy only knew that the IS 300 is my wife's car and her daily driver and that the suspension setup I did completely meets her criteria. It's not too low and not overly stiff. In fact, she appreciates the improvement in her driving experience.

On a scale of mild to wild, my suspension setup is definitely mild.
