Brake TSIB Afterthoughts...

Brake TSIB Afterthoughts...
People are concerned about the Brake Pad TSIB, and I want to hear about people's reactions with it.
Do you feel the brakes work better? Are they not as good?
Is the brake dust less or more? Was it worth it?
Feel free to vote and make comments. Thanks!

Personally, I found that the brake pads brake just as well as the original pads, without the dust.
I never have to constantly clean my chromes anymore, and I'm happy with the results.
The brake pads are the same ones used on the GS450h, which is more powerful and heavier (and can brake just as well as the IS350), so I don't see how such brake pads can actually decrease braking performance. Just my hypothesis, and experience...

I feel they have about the same stopping power - I haven't noticed any difference. Although I still have the dust problem, it's not as bad as before but still pretty bad imo.
Oh well, I'll just have to start washing my car more often and stop being lazy.

I'm still not sure... but I have plenty of time to think about it..
^^ This is true for the IS350... but not for the IS250 which uses a completely re-designed pad / part number..

You think I have a case for them to replace my rear pads since they claim they are low and need new ones before winter since they told me no after the fact that the TSIB was out.
Other wise you think since I paid for my new front and rear that I can get them to change my front (they said brand new and covered by the TSIB) and keep them and get the break TSIB for new front pads which in reality is like a free set which is why I mentioned that they just give me new rear pads for free instead of all the work.

People say that they can't really notice the difference, but I notice a pretty significant difference, is my mind playing tricks with me or are other people trying to downplay the fact that the brakes have less stopping power? I don't know I'm so confused!

They have exactly the same stopping power. Your brakes don't stop the car, your tires do. And let's not restart that whole discussion for the nth time. If you think they don't work as well, then they were not correctly installed. Mine are less grabby, but still FAR grabbier than my Supra's brakes with Hawk HPS pads. The TSIB pads are FAR less dusty, and my car doesn't resemble a BMW in 50 miles as it used to.

i got it done but for DUST issues not performance issue. i think the vote poll options should be changed a bit; i was looking to vote YES i am happy with my less dusty pads. performance was sacrificed though.

i have driven my is350 and my friends is250 before and after the tsib. Honestly i dont see the difference. Only difference would probably be no more dust on the 350! I feel they both stop the same after the tsib was done.
I think it was worth it .

I did not vote because I did not see the option I wanted.
YES I'm happy with the TSIB brake pads. I now have cleaner front wheels. Definitely much lesser dust.
The TSIB pads are not as grabby or at par with the original. It feels like I have to press harder on the brake pedal but I did not really feel a big drop in performance.
Overall, I'm very satisfied.
