Default tsb and brake dust

Just had it done last week. Cleaned my wheels on Saturday. Its been 5 days and there are more brake dust than expected. Not as much as before, but definitely more than the rear wheels. Are you guys getting same results?

You'll still get brake dust. It just doesn't accumulate as fast as it did before. It's an improvement, but it doesn't make it dissapear. I'm happy with my new brakes....

Check your dealer paperwork and see if the brake pad part# is 04465-53030.
The new pads are great!

Had ours (IS 250AWD) done a couple of months ago - effectively no brake dust since. No noticeable degradation in stopping power either.

The brake dust on the fronts are noticeably less than the rears.

SpaceCadet, is your 2IS an 08'? I have an 08' and the dealership said there isn't a TSIB out yet.

Both the RWD (GSE20) and AWD (GSE25) use the same brake pads front and rear. Like joeb427 said, check your repair order and make sure they installed the right pads. I had mine done about 3 months ago and I've never regretted it.

Had my brake pads replaced also. Two edge sword to me. Yes, the dust is virtually gone now.............but the brakes are grabby and really so when cold. Brake stopping power appears about the same but it seems it takes less pedal pressure to stop..... Rotors wear I think is up..........not a good thing when they need to be replaced. Ouch!!!

i wonder if the 2008's come with the newer pads. i would think that would be wise
(unless the eprecentage of replacements is low, maybe most people just put up with the black dust?)

There's been some posts from '08 owners who say they have the brake dust issue. So they don't have the newer pads.

I just talked to the service advisor today & he said their dealership would do it for an 08'. Corporate told him as long as there's at least 5mm on the pads, corporate will let the dealerships do the TSB. His best educated guess for most people would be up to 10k miles so I might just wait until the 10k oil change to do it. Then again cleaning the wheels & 3-4 days later seeing so much brake dust accumulating is annoying.
