I found a new Rack for $368.00 shipped plus a stupid $200.00 core charge until u bring them your old one back. What im looking for is someone that rebuilds racks locally in CA. Anyone got any updated? My ish feels like its getting worse every day.

Not sure about the core. My steering rack is fine, but I need front lower control arms soon as that is what is giving me a bit of sloppy handling in the front end.

Has anyone actually gone ahead and tried the MK4 rack? I would think it would fit. Anyone confirm or deny? I am replacing everything under the car at the moment with as many Supra components as possible so this is a logical choice...if it will fit.

Just for #12 which is the rack itself.

Wouldn't it best to replace the entire rack and pinion assy that I believes includes new inner tie rods. Number 1 in the picture. It costs 300 for the rack plus 200 core charge.

there isnt anything wrong with your rack.
i bet a new rack would do it worse.
its the price we pay for the comfort of awesome power steering.
notice it doesnt do it at higher speeds when the power steering is reduced.
my sc does it, i havent heard anyone say that theirs doesnt do it.

the only way a supra rack would help is if it effectively lowers the pressure applied by the power steering system. now that would indeed help correct bump steer.

Sounds like your steering rack bushings or lower control arms if you haven't replaced those already.

Well it didn't do this when I bought it a few years ago. So I know its not normal as Ali Sc3 suggested. All the bushings have been replace except for the upper control arms on mine.

Hopefully I have the money for a new rack and pinion assy here soon. Its only $300 from Pembroke Pines. I think Lextreme.com might sell one for less. I'm pretty sure replacing the rack and pinion ineer/outer tie rods will eliminate this problem. What else is there to replace. As long as everything is tight and the bushings and ball joints are in good shape it almost has to be the rack.
