GS300 Steering Wheel Vibration?

I recently bought a GS300, however the owners never did have me sign a contract/as-is bill of sale, I didn't even drive the car 5 miles since buying because I needed to do a smog check on it..However when my dad drove the car yesterday on the freeway the steering wheel vibrated at 60mph? Is that normal?
Its a 1999 with 49,0000 miles??
Tires seem as if they are new as well?

Stock wheels? Might just be out of balance.
The Lexus cars are very sensitive to tire/wheel balance.
If a local shop has a "road force balance" machine, I would
start with this. The road force machines simulate the weight
of the car pressing on the tire and provide a more accurate
and true balance than the old school machines.

Dear god, not another thread about 60mph vibrations. The dealer has likely heard this one a thousand times, and I have been there and its not fun.
Road force balancing is the first, best, cheapest cure. The stock wheels, for whatever reason are a pain to balance, and the car itsself is very sensitive to wheels that are even a little un-balanced.
I doubt at 49k miles that its time to do the ball joint/tie rod/steering rack dance, but on a car that has seen lots of rough roads its possible some wear could account for this.
Wheel balanace is usually the cause of the vibration in the wheel. You can feel it in the seat if the rears are un-balanced.

Anyway, I think you should get them balanced again.. and you say you can't see any weights? I find that weird.
And I'd say road force balancing will run you 3-4 times as much as a regular balance (if you need to do all wheels), at least that's how much it is where I'm from.
