Default LS 400 Calipers and SC400 Rotors?

Hey all

I've searched, but will LS400 calipers fit with SC400 rotors? I am on a budget and was trying to install my LS400 calipers today and fitment was very very tight (I have TT rims) but that wasn't the worst thing. Apparently the caliper is rubbing against the rotor (metal to metal). I thought that SC400 rotors would fit with LS400 calipers? There's plenty left on the pads too but the calipers themselves are making contact with the rotor instead of the pads.

thanks for any help

NO!! SC rotors will not work with LS calipers.

Didn't you research this before you bought the brakes?

the LS rotors are huge compared to your stockers, you will definitely need to upgrade

I've tried it personally, it does not even come close to fitting properly so I don't see how it is possible...I def wouldn't recommend it..The last thing you want is brake failure..

If you dont have the cash to mod, then why mod at all..Nothing wrong with being stock..Working parts is better than putting together something hacked and incomplete..

I would not do a short cut job, especially brake parts. You want your car to stop, dont you? Its too dangerous

Put your stockers back on until you can get the rotors.

thanks for all the help...it's not my daily driver so I just let it sit until my rotors arrive. I ordered a set of blanks from r1 concepts via a referral from someone in the LS400 part of the forum.

yes, with the stock rotors the wheels can barely move b/c of bad fitment. I didn't move more than a few feet so don't worry! I can't wait to test out my fully FUNCTIONAL ls400 breaks soon though!

cheers
