Smile Brake Covers or Paint?

I saw on ebay and other websites selling the Brake Caliper Covers.
Such as this :

http://cgi.ebay.com/DISC-BRAKE-CALIP...QQcmdZViewItem

and this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Calip...spagenameZWDVW

OR should I just go to a body shop and paint my calipers instead??

Any opinions? Also how much do you think body shops charge for painting the calipers?

Thx!!

I go for painting the calipers yourself. It would probably only take a few hours, and you could do it yourself - make it a little fun project, drink a couple of beers. they have the paint kits at auto parts stores - put a white Lexus sticker on after you paint them black, throw on a coat of clear, and they look pretty awesome.

I'd be interested to see if anyone has tried the "caliper covers" that are on eBay. If they are decent quality, they *could* look nice. Don't know how durable it would be with simply gluing them on though...interesting nonetheless...

Just paint the brakes yourself- I don't know that a body shop would actually touch that as a job....
Holy crap, those caliper covers are the lamest thing I've seen since the faux blow off valve

I'd paint them yourself.... i recently did mine when i was switching to my winter rims. Took me about an hour to do the whole job. painted them black with caliper paint. So far they have held up great!! now im waiting for my LEXUS stickers to come in..

The ideas people come up with... Im simply speechless. Go for Paint, Plus wont have to worry about them covers falling off, which may cause unwanted headaces

I say paint it yourself and save yourself the trouble of losing a pair of covers when you hit a bump or pot hole.

haha fall off when u accelerate hard, thats funny. neways i know G2 Brake caliper paint is suppose to be pretty awesome. its a brush on application and should withstand alot. search G2 brake caliper paint, they sell kits that gives u everything from u need, prep, prime, paint, clear. its about $30 i think?

Have it done... I have heard and seen some of these DIY caliper jobs fade over time and they don't look good. If you are going black than that wouldn't be a problem. I was thinking of red.

I don't think it costs very much, but the time issue may be a problem for u.
