DIY install instructions for extended wheel studs?
i tried searching but found nothing. is there a post for this somewhere out there? i'm hoping i don't have to push the hub out of the knuckles to do this

You dont have to take the knuckle out to remove the studs. What you do need to do is remove both the caliper and the rotor. Once that is done, take a lug nut and put it on the stud you want to take out. Use a hammer, or rubber mallet and smack it pretty hard. it'll just pop out. Proceed to the next stud.
To install new ones, put on the new longer stud and then use an open-end lug nut to tighten the stud into the spindle. Make sure you check that the lugs are physically in the spindle. There are different ways to tighten the studs in. What I did was put the rotor over the longer studs and then used an impact gun to pull the studs into the spindle.
It looks easier than it sounds.

keep in mind if you use the stock lug nuts to hammer out, the tips will get smashed
if you use stock lug nuts to put on the extend stud, the lugnut might get stripped so be careful. i went through 6 stock lug nuts when i did mine.
fronts are easy. exactly what GSteg said. but for the rears i needed to undo the emegency brake pad to give room to remove stock stud and to install longer stud.
hope this helps alittle more.
good luck.

thanks everyone.
i'm hoping to put in this stuff:
it's night pager wheel spacers/studs that are custom fit to the oem 17" 5-spoke wheels (25mm rear, 13mm front) so that i can run supra/LS brake calipers

is there another way to do it without using the lug nuts? someone pm'd me with a story of his misfortunes, which involved the threads stripping out on his studs while pulling the studs through the hub using the nuts

Heres a method i always use which doesnt hurt your rubber mallet(gouging) or your stock lugnuts
Place a hardened deep socket suitable for an impactwrench over the lugnut..then whack it with your favourite BFH .
Please dont hurt your fingers doing this..Tip: i also put tape around the head of the Wheel lugnut before i put the deep socket on (that way it wont bounce back and hurt you or paintwork (S#it happens)
Edit: use washers to get your new studs in (washers under lugnuts) then, when they get going.. use lugnut
